Heidi, Our World: How One Tiny French Bulldog Filled Our Lives with Big Love
The Dream of Having a Fur Baby
My husband has always wanted a dog—and honestly, so have I. But for us, getting a dog wasn’t just about having a pet. It was about finding a fur baby—someone to love and care for like family.
Since we don’t have children yet, we knew we had so much love to give. We dreamed of a little companion we could bring with us wherever we go, especially on our motorbike trips and daily adventures.
Finding the Right One
The search wasn’t easy. There are so many dogs that need homes, and I honestly wish we could adopt them all! My husband mentioned he loved Boxer dogs, but he also really liked French Bulldogs. After doing some research and thinking about our lifestyle, we agreed: a French Bulldog was the perfect match for us.
We were specifically looking for the smallest one we could find—because yes, we planned to take her on our motorbike! We imagined riding through towns and countryside with a tiny dog in tow, just enjoying life together.
Love at First Sight
Then came Heidi.
The first time my husband saw her, he fell in love instantly. When I saw her, I felt the exact same way. She was so tiny, so calm, and so cute. We were beyond excited when we visited the breeder’s home.
The moment they handed Heidi to us, my heart melted. She wasn’t just a dog—she was everything. It felt like she was meant for us.
Bringing Heidi Home
Heidi was only two months old when we brought her home. She was so tiny, she could fit into a backpack—and yes, we actually carried her around that way! She joined us on our first mall trips, motorbike rides, cafés—you name it. Wherever we went, Heidi came with us.
She became our little shadow. And from day one, she was family.
Becoming a Mama
Taking care of a dog full-time was a new experience for me. Back in the Philippines, we had dogs, but this was different. This time, I was completely responsible. I was her mama.
And you know what? I loved every moment of it.
We trained her patiently. I researched dog training, built a routine, and gave her structure, love, and attention. It made me so proud watching her grow into such a smart and well-behaved little girl.
The Most Well-Behaved Pup
One thing that amazed everyone—including us—is that Heidi never made a mess inside our home. From the beginning, she never peed or pooped in the wrong place. People were honestly shocked!
We’ve heard it all:
“How did you train her so well?”
“She’s so clean!”
“You’re lucky—my dog destroyed everything as a puppy!”
Some people even admitted they were a little jealous! But it wasn’t luck. It took time, consistency, and a lot of love—and Heidi’s sweet, calm nature definitely helped.
She doesn’t bark unnecessarily. She’s never been destructive. She knows when to play and when to rest. She waits patiently while we eat. And she listens to our commands like a little pro.
Everyone Loves Heidi
Wherever we go, people fall in love with her. Kids adore her. Strangers stop to take pictures with her. Locals remember her name. There’s just something about Heidi’s personality—she’s gentle, well-mannered, and so easy to love.
Even at our gigs, she sits beside us quietly. When we go on holiday, she comes too. And yes—even when we go to beer places, Heidi is right there with us, just chilling under the table like the queen she is! People find it hilarious and heartwarming at the same time.
Our Adventures Together
Heidi has joined us on so many adventures—beach holidays, road trips, cave explorations, lazy days at home, and busy nights out. She’s been there for all of it.
Every day with her is filled with laughter. Her tiny snorts, her silly sleeping poses, the way she gets excited every time we come home—even if we were gone for just a few minutes. She brings a joy we never knew we were missing.
Heidi Is More Than Just a Dog
Heidi is our everything.
She’s not just a dog—she’s our baby, our travel buddy, our constant companion, and the heart of our little family. She came into our lives and filled it with unconditional love, comfort, and pure happiness.
We may not have a child right now, but having Heidi feels complete in a different, beautiful way. She made us a family.
And honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way.

One of her favorite things in the world is riding with us—whether it’s on a motorbike or in the car. The moment we say, “Heidi, let’s go broom broom!”—she gets so excited! Her eyes light up, her little tail wags, and she’s ready to hop into her seat. She loves feeling the breeze on her face, especially on motorbike rides. It's her kind of thrill!

And at night? Heidi always sleeps between me and my husband—ever since she was a puppy! She’s got her own spot in bed like a little princess. Some people say she’s spoiled, but we say she’s just loved. I always tell her she’s lucky... and maybe we’re even luckier to have her.

A Wish From My Heart
Every year on Heidi’s birthday, I prepare something special for her—a little cake, balloons, treats, and lots of cuddles. It’s a tradition now, because she deserves to be celebrated just like any other family member.
All I truly wish is for Heidi to live a long, healthy, and happy life with us. She has already given us so much love and joy—I just want more years with her. More adventures. More bedtime snuggles. More “broom broom” rides. More everything.
Because Heidi is not just our dog—she is our heart.
